Texas Privacy Notice

This notice describes the information Texas Released Inmates receives, how it is used, and when it may be shared. Using the site means accepting these practices. Official portals linked here apply their own privacy terms, and IVSS registrations are handled under the state's confidentiality statement.

Information You Submit

Search terms

A name, place, or other query entered in a search box passes to the outside provider that operates the tool. Texas Released Inmates does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy controls its handling of the query.

Messages

Contact messages and email addresses may be kept long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law. Do not send Social Security numbers, victim details, medical facts, or other sensitive identifiers through ordinary email.

Technical Data Collected

Normal web logs and analytics may receive limited technical details when a page loads:

  • Internet Protocol address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device class and operating system;
  • pages opened and time spent;
  • the referring page, when supplied; and
  • date and time stamps.

Cookies

Cookies may help measure site use and remember basic preferences. Browser controls can reject or delete them, although some functions may then behave differently.

How Data Is Used

  • Operate the site and monitor performance.
  • Send a search query to the selected partner.
  • Measure which Texas resources visitors use.
  • Find errors, abuse, and technical faults.
  • Present advertising that may reflect browsing interests.

Policies on Linked Sites

Links lead to Texas sheriffs, TDCJ, courts, federal locators, county subdomains, and outside search providers. After a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy policy controls. Official systems may log a search or require an account. IVSS states that registrations are confidential under its own rules.

Advertising companies may use their systems to measure activity across several sites and select ads. Texas Released Inmates does not control those systems.

Limited Data Sharing

Personal data is not sold. Necessary information may be received by:

  • a search partner processing a submitted query;
  • analytics providers measuring site traffic;
  • advertising networks serving ads; or
  • law enforcement or another public body acting under a valid legal order.

Security Measures

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security, so transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed breach-proof.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. A parent or guardian may request deletion if a minor submitted information.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the limits of the data held, a visitor may ask to:

  • receive a copy of personal data held;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete eligible information; or
  • object to certain processing.
